Some More Problems connecting windows 8 App STORE
Most of you have followed my previous post about connecting to app store behind proxy and from the feedback and comments I was happy to hear that people were able to access app store and install apps.
Still some people were not able to connect and some people connected but could not install apps.
INSTANCE #1: Network icon in taskbar has yellow exclamation mark.
Solution: Try to get rid of the yellow exclamation. Even if you can access internet from your browsers (say Internet Explorer) App store will not work. Follow the steps to get rid of exclamation mark.
Step1: Change the internet proxy settings to some other proxy, which has internet access, from your room IP, which was in IE. Use 202.141.80.?? in IE.
Step2: Then open command prompt (with ADMINISTRATOR privilege) and type
netsh winhttp import proxy source = ie
Then the proxy will be changed to some proxy with internet access.
Step3: Restart your computer. Now you are free of the yellow exclamation.
Step4: Change the system proxy to your room IP again and run the above command. Now enjoy your access to the App STORE.
